About AAP
Animal Aide Pontiac attempts to respond to appeals from the public for assistance with stray or neglected animals; mainly cats, throughout the 18 municipalities in Pontiac County. We do not have a shelter and rescued animals are housed temporarily with some of our volunteers, when they are able to accommodate rescued animals. Animal Aide Pontiac receives absolutely no financial support from any level of government and has to rely on its own fund-raising initiatives and the generosity of animal lovers to carry out its work. Animal Aide Pontiac has established good working relationships with several SPCAs in both Quebec and Ontario and is always looking for people wanting to assist us in helping the domestic animals of Pontiac County. Before contacting Animal Aide Pontiac to pick up abandoned animals, the public is encouraged to make every attempt to shelter and care for them, either on a temporary or permanent basis. Financial assistance for spaying and neutering cats is available from the Cat Assistance Programme, described elsewhere on this website.
